Roger qualified as an ADI in May 2001 and moved from the West Country to join The Way Ahead in 2003, becoming a part of, and a director of, Drivex from the start. Roger entered the ORDIT register for all three parts of the qualifying process, becoming a DVSA accredited Fleet Instructor in 2008 followed up with achieving DVSA accredited Fleet ADI Instructor status in 2009. He holds the highly coveted DIAmond Special Test (one of the highest driving standards possible) and is a trained Security and Protection Driver with extensive experience running multi-car escorted convoys. Along with Steve, Roger is also responsible for delivering the bulk of Drivex’s in-vehicle training, instructor training, risk assessments and represents the company at events across the U.K.
Originally a Civil Engineer by trade, specialising in high value major road resurfacing projects, Roger has always held a passionate interest in cars and driving. He has owned many different types of vehicle during his driving life including both classic and high performance cars, and this love of all things automotive led to a natural progression towards becoming a driving instructor and instructor trainer, together with a strong desire to push further into more highly specialised driving methods and standards, and has had the privilege of driving some of the music world’s biggest names over a number of years, often working under police escort.
